Thus far the novel has a strong story line. A great example of how you should not underestimate anyone because other people think they are weak. Heck not even if they appear weak, because there could most certainly be immense strength beneath. Surprisingly the weakness others appear to see is nothing more than lack of confidence. I will say I do wish the author would stop making the protagonist repeat the same self deprecating lines every chapter. At the end of each chapter she appears to have a breakthrough. I get excited to see her growth in the next chapter, but when I get to the next chapter it is the same dreary story at the end. She is still defeated, deflated and believes the lies being spread about her. Then we are back to her moping around and doubting herself. Honestly it is not realistic for her to have this much self doubt when she has a break through every chapter, has a best friend who constantly redirects her mind set. She even has an elder pushing and encouraging her to see her strength. Ideally, I would like to see the main character keep getting stronger and more self assured. I would like to see her grow that revert to the beginning of the book. I understand the author wants to keep us in suspense. I understand not wanting to reveal too much too soon. I understand mot wanting the main character to develop too fast, but the has to be a better option than the council and everyone going on and on about the same thing. I would have like to see the author use those chapters to give us a bit of background. For example, explain why the chosen Luna hated her from the beginning.

The summary of this novel grabbed my attention right off the bat. So far, however, I am finding that the storyline is very repetitive in many of the initial chapters. But … I am not giving up on this novel quite yet and I plan to read ‘til the very end. I have high hopes that the plot will start taking off and reaching the crescendo it deserves. If possible, when I reach the end, I will amend this review or leave a new one.

I am enjoying this book.However, I feel like it should be moving a little faster, but it's still keeping me very interested. I feel for her plate and how she's been degraded to the point that it's hard for her to have faith in herself. And I applaud the author for the flow.Sometimes we do need to slow down and really think things through. And I guess that's what is kind of trying to say.Sometimes we need to slow down and make better choies.Kudos to you!
