The Night Before I Knew Him Reviews

Interesting, funny and dramatic. I like the concept and the story line although the drama is still the main concept and sometimes it can be a lot and you need to stop for a (little) breathe. But apart from that, I like this book, it is no boring so far and it keeps you in suspense you cannot resist to wait for the next chapter and see how things are going to be, because you think the characters are going to react in a way but every time they act completely different from what you thought, and I like that. Very unique.

This is an absolute good read! Once I started reading, I, really, just could not stop. Very Good work! I am very appreciative of the story line and having both perspectives of the main character's. The thought processes of June and of Hermes gave the story of special touch. Especially, because they both are crazy about each other from tge start .😄 I love how naturally human the characters feel lol. It was super intriguing from the very start.

We’re wired to look for patterns and feel in control—like we’re predicting what’s coming next. Then something flips the script, and suddenly you realize the rules were never what you thought. It creates that double feeling: fun because it’s surprising, and unsettling because it exposes how limited our control really is. A lot of great storytelling—and even games or puzzles—play with that tension. They let you feel in charge just long enough that the twist actually means something. Without that illusion of control, the surprise wouldn’t land as hard. And zooming out a bit, it does echo something real: we make plans, build narratives about our lives, but there are always bigger systems, randomness, and other people shaping outcomes in ways we can’t fully steer.

I like this novel plot. The intensity... the excitement... the wondering what is going to be next ... there is never a dull moment for June.. I like the fact that you can't really see what's coming next..... you want to keep reading ... you want to know so you keep going. I love the story line. Something different and exciting. The writter keeps the audience glued and interested...I can't wait for the next chapters excitement!!! Another late night 😄 🥰 😅

OMG SO GOOD I AM EATING UP EVERY PAGE AND I LITERALLY AM SO OBSESSED RN. I love the characters the world building and the vocabulary is just so well put together. I was honestly gagged. Its got such vivid imagery that I feel like I'm watching it all play out. The character switching is so good too it lines up perfectly where its not confusing and just flows. I just cant step away I've been reading for like 3 hours!!!

Loving the story and the fact that both of them don’t want to give into temptation! It creates a great dynamic in the story plus having both of their sides in different chapters. Allow you to see how they’re struggling with the obvious attraction between the two of them. Great that there’s not too many other characters so you don’t have to remember too many different people and their part in the story which helps if it’s a couple of days between chapter reads. I can see that the networking gala dinner for the company might play a paper role in the story not sure sure yet how Chris fits in whether she’s tempted to go with him rather than Hermes or whether he’s just a distraction. Not sure how Layla and Kayla fit into the story other than being housemates not really had a part to play as yet. The story is well written certainly builds tension between chapters. There’s not much time given to explaining where you are whether going that sort of location so there’s not too over explanation to create an atmosphere. Fairly sometimes helped to build a picture in your mind if our each place relates to each other, but then on the other hand too, which explanation seems to waste. Looking forward to seeing how the story develops and how many chapters it’s gonna take before they actually give in to the temptation and then what happens after that!

Wow wow wow. I have been binging this story and can’t get enough. Worth every cent to unlock chapters. To the Author - you are an amazing story teller. It is so well written I can’t believe this isn’t a bestselling novel. I especially love that we get the internal POV of both June and Hermes contrasted with their external actions. The tension building between them is so intense and hot.. So so addictive to read and omfg the ~spicy~ scenes are DIVINE!

This book takes you down a rabbit hole. Be prepared to become frustrated with the characters. Loved that it was written from both perspectives and gives insight to both characters thoughts and feelings, which helps understand the story a bit better. What is frustrating is that the story is a bit of a drag and had the potential to lose its reader as it becomes a bit repetitive. Alas, a good read and a few good chuckles throughout. Let's hope it is not in vain and the ending is pleasant!

I love how this book is going. I like the story line but I want for them to talk about that night. I like the characters and their stories. I want to know about Hermes father and see what’s going on the fraud or whatever the story is. I want to know more about the intern’s personal story and how her roommates are involved. I also want to know more about Hermes friends and how much they know about his story. Good storyline so far.

I like the book so far. I just wish June would stand up for herself and confront him. Ask him what is his problem with her? Why is he so demeaning? Like calling her Intern; she should tell him I have a name and I’d like you to use it, I deserve that much respect. I sure hope something happens between these two to spice this book up soon. The story is good but how about he corners her and kisses her. Just saying…….
