While initially this novel started out as not one of my favorites by the end it absolutely moved up the list. Laura went through SO much just to find a sliver of happiness in her somewhat miserable life. Although Alex did NOT deserve the love Laura gave him he finally started treating her the way she deserved to be treated especially after all the heck she went through because of Sandra and Mason. To top it off the betrayal of someone even closer was almost too much.
