This book was the last in a series of 3. If you haven’t yet, go read the first two before this one. Doctor of Darkness Vol 1: Cold as Ice, and Doctor of Darkness Vol 2: Hot as Fire. Loved them both, and they set the stage for this one. This is the final battle of the group, and your heart will feel it more if you read the first two before this. The character development is more in those as well. All in all, a wonderful adventure, love story, battle, and great novel. Thank you Claudia!

What a wonderful cast of characters! From the first page of book 1 I was completely engrossed in the stories. The plots were well written and the images so clear it was like being there in the story. The twists and turns that happened along the way were great. I did not feel like it was the same old vampire story, but a new look at a very old kind of tale. I highly recommend this series to any one who loves a gritty love story.

Doctor of Darkness was wonderful wonderful wonderful. This series was pageturner to me and I will read more series from you Ms POHL. I love all the main characters, such as Dr Selena, Vlad, Marcus, Dragan, I was sad that Vlad's Assistant being killed. I was also sad about Victoria dying and I was so glad that all the good vampires, dragons, elves, werewolves, lycans came together for a common Good to defeat the evil counterparts. It was very anti-climatic how Re use his son power just to enslave everyone but was happy that Selena used her dark powers to defeat him. I love how you end the series by waking up Selena to be with her love Dragan

Review after the novel completion

Darker as the Night is a gripping psychological thriller that pulls readers into a world of quiet dread and moral ambiguity. The prose is sharp yet atmospheric, building tension with deliberate pacing rather than cheap twists. Its protagonist feels unsettlingly real, flawed in ways that linger after the final page. While some sections move slowly, the payoff is worth the patience. The novel ultimately explores how fear reshapes identity, leaving a haunting impression that stays with you long after finishing it. It rewards careful, attentive reading. Thank you author for a very good book!
