Secret Wife, Real Billionaire

Slowburn between a ludicrously ultra-talented superwoman and the world’s most heartless asshole. Renee is a true jack-of-all-trades master of everything, who’s so exceptionally perfect in every way and at everything, that the main entertainment of the novel is watching how effortlessly and cleverly she foils all her enemies’ evil schemes, with her overwhelming talent, cunning and graceful poise. She’s so ridiculously OP that her only real threat is herself, because this girl cannot COMMUNICATE. She refuses to talk with Marcelo, and every single time there’s a misunderstanding between them, she doesn’t even TRY to explain herself! Not that he’s much better. It takes 110+ chapters before their very first meaningful conversation (initiated by Marcelo ofc), and Renee only realises they need to talk and communicate with each other in the final 6. The rest of the time, they are NEVER on the same page, and have vastly different expectations and understandings. There is also no reason whatsoever for their marriage to be kept secret, other than to create conflict between them. There are also a bunch of loose ends and unresolved subplots (Jason and Milena, Sarah and Marvin, the Hills’ family, Ivan, who are Renee’s real parents…). I would’ve loved for Marcelo to actually apologise to Renee for how horribly he treated her (especially their wedding day), but like most novels of this type, the ML’s past sins are forgotten. Overall, the romance portion of this story is very lacklustre, but Renee and her inhuman ability to be perfect at everything, and deftly overcome any and every external threat is hilarious. Marcelo is just there to fall into obsession with her (like every other man), and to be a grumpy, overbearing, possessive jerk. Definite guilty pleasure territory.
