CHAPTER 1

KYLIE’S POV

“Get out,” He threw my suitcase out of the house.

I stood still, really shocked as I wasn’t able to comprehend what was happening.

“Babe, what—” I was saying till he interrupted me.

“Don’t you ever call me that again,” He spelt out with gritted teeth.

I watched him throw my belongings outside the mansion, without doing anything.

In fact what could I have done?

I tried begging him but it seemed like his mind was already made up.

My husband never gave me any reason to expect this kind of mistreatment from him, but suddenly started acting weird.

I cried slowly as I picked up my bag from the floor.

“Grayson, what did I ever do to you?” I asked, with my voice breaking.

“Leave here you barren woman,” He spat out and I felt my heart shatter at the mention of the word ‘barren’.

“What was going on?”

We’ve been married for a year without me conceiving, but he has always been an ideal husband who was always there to support me whenever I was down.

He always told me not to bother myself about our childlessness, saying that children would come at the appropriate time.

But hearing my husband calling me a barren for the first time actually made my heart ache.

That moment I was returning from the hospital, hoping to share the good news with him but met the shock of my life.

“I’m sorry babe, but I have something to tell you,” I sobbed gently and he stared at me coldly.

“Leave!!” He ordered, pointing at the gate.

“I’m sure you wouldn’t want my guards to throw you out,” He said and I stared at his eyes which held so much hatred for me.

I wondered how everything managed to change suddenly because I knew how those eyes that held hatred for me, cared so much about me.

“Won’t you at least hear me out?” I was rather apprehensive because I knew it was too early for me to be a divorcée.

“Get out,” He spat and walked inside, banging the door heavily behind him.

I picked up my bags slowly and walked down the street with a tear stained face.

I knew that calling my parents who were in Holland was the wrong thing to do at that moment, but I didn’t have anywhere to go.

I didn’t want to disturb my best friend who of course wouldn’t see it as a disturbance.

I sat at a corner of the road and brought out my phone, ready to dial my mum’s number when I suddenly heard my name.

“Kylie!” The familiar voice called and I froze that instant, before turning back slowly.

“Jane?” I wondered, wondering how my best friend got to know my situation and came to look for me.

“What are you doing here?” She asked, with a raised brow and I knew instantly that she didn’t know about what had befallen me.

“Nothing,” I smiled nervously and she shot me a glare.

“Nothing? Huh? And you’re out here with your bags?” She asked and I bit my lips, trying hard to control myself from breaking down in her presence.

“Come on, let’s go home,” She said the moment she knew I wasn’t going to reply.

“No!” I said rather quickly and she creased her brows.

“Really? Where do you have in mind to go?” She asked the question that was bothering me and I sighed deeply.

“You see, no response? Let’s just go home,” She said and picked up my bags before leading me home.

We got to her home and I just fell on the couch and bursted out in fresh tears.

“He should have at least heard me out,” This was what I kept on murmuring and Jane pulled me closer to herself and hugged me.

My tears dampened Jane’s top as she kept on patting me till I had gotten myself.

“You okay now?” She asked and I nodded before pouting almost immediately.

“What happened?” She asked and I yawned hungrily.

“I’m hungry,” I said and she smiled widely.

“Now that’s my girl,” She said and rushed into the kitchen to prepare something for me.

My mind played back the scene that occurred earlier today and I couldn’t stop sighing.

I slipped my hands into my bag and brought out a white envelope, before opening it.

I read the contents of the letter and tears flowed freely on my face when I couldn’t hold it anymore.

“You’re crying again?” I heard her voice and I held my chest in a relieved manner.

“You have this knack for scaring me,” I said amidst tears and she chuckled lightly.

“Tell me exactly what happened,” She said and I nodded, before picking up the tray of food and keeping it on my lap.

I scooped a spoonful of the food and ate it hungrily, before facing her.

“My husband sent me out of the house,” I said and her eyes widened.

“Are you serious?” She screamed surprisingly.

“I had thought that it was your mother in law?” She asked and I shook my head.

If anyone had told me that I would be sent out of my husband’s house, I’d have thought it was going to be my mother in law's hand work because I had always known that she hated me with passion.

She had asked my husband a lot of times to get married to another woman, and he always refused politely.

So, watching my husband send me out of the house gave me this unexplainable pain.

“For what reason?” She asked and I chuckled in pain.

“For being barren, he even called me barren,” I said and she widened her eyes in shock.

“Are you serious?” She asked surprisingly and I nodded, before passing her the paper I just finished reading.

She opened it and gasped loudly before a wide smile plastered on her lips.

“Such good news, but why didn’t you tell him?” She asked and I shook my head.

“I wasn’t given an opportunity to,” I said and she breathed deeply.

“Any plans?” She asked me and I stared at her before a sly smile appeared on my lips.

CHAPTER 2

KYLIE’S POV

I wasn’t going to inform him about my pregnancy.

I was going to make sure that he doesn’t find out that I was pregnant when I was sent out of his house.

“He’ll live without having an idea that he has a child,” I thought and Jane tapped her legs on the floor absentmindedly.

“What’s the matter?” I asked her and she shook her head, trying to deny that there was something bothering her.

She was my best friend, and I knew that she usually taps her leg on the floor anytime something bothers her.

“What’s the matter? You don’t have to lie to me,” I said and she breathed deeply.

“Do you think hiding the fact that he’s a father from him would help the situation?” She asked and I glared at her furiously.

“I thought you would actually support me? But what’s going on?”

“You want me to tell a man who caused me humiliation and pain that he’s a soon to be father?” I asked in immense shock and she shook her hea
