Review after the novel completion

Diana and Ashley were such believable characters. The author added many layers to the story. The hate that both parents projected was palpable. Diana’s obsession was criminal bordering on madness. Her manipulation of her parents and of Lillian was a little hard to believe. Andrew was such a nice guy it’s too bad he ended up with such a loser. Including Evan and his relationship with Andrew meeting in the cafe and then the follow-up in jail tied up a lot of loose ends. Other than a few his and her mixups the grammar was pretty good.

Review after half of the novel

This story is so emotional. You really feel for Ashley. I couldn't help but cry on and off. The author does a good job in writing this story. It was hard to put this book down. The emotions are strong. The writing is fabulous where emotions are concerned. Very passionate writing in my opinion. I would like to read other books by this author. Although, I may have to take a break in between stories if they are all emotional and passionate like this one.

Don’t be deceived by the red face… I’m loving this book…. HATING the main character …. He is literally the worst JACKASS I’ve ever read about. Pour Ashly who never had a chance in the world stuck with this worthless piece of garbage…. HE wanted this HE chose this HE didn’t even care to find out the real truth… that she didn’t deceive him… she was TOLD to do what she did this is completely crazy!!!

Review after the novel completion

This was a good read. It kept you interested throughout until the end of the story. A little disappointed towards the end, it almost seems like a chapter or two was left out. Otherwise I would have given it two thumbs up! The one where Diane was caught with the baby. It just happened - no explanation how they got there, just her getting ready to kill the baby and the police rescuing. Then later a chapter end with Diana calling Anderson from jail. Then another chapter starts with Evan in jail and Andrew confronting him. How’s that happen we can only assume. Otherwise a good read.

Review after the novel completion

I’m still thinking about it. It got me hooked to read through, so that is one thing but I’m not so sure I actually like it. The plot is complex and does have interesting twists but the characters are too defined from the beginning even when situations changed. It’s like reading through the mind of psychopaths and broken brains. Always reading how cunning they will be and a lot of resolve of being even more cunning. Sadly you do not get to see any of this promised intelligence and planning. The text only covers a few inner thoughts and some descriptions of scenes. You do not get to see any plans or real feelings just some results or momentary reactions. Could have been good but it lacks a lot in my opinion.

Interesting story line & plot twist. Would’ve been helpful to have characters have distinctive names. Especially, secondary characters such as Claire and Clara who are introduced multiple chapters apart increasing readers confusion as to who exactly they are. Also, several grammar errors which refer to males as she and vice versa, females referred to as he-resolved with proof editing. Additionally, several times the newborn baby had unrealistic characterizations such being a few days old but described as sitting in high chairs to be fed. By definition a newborn is less than 28 days old. A chapter later, this newborn baby (few days old) was on the floor playing with building blocks and knocking them over. While I appreciate the attempt to add more depth to the character it is preposterous to think that a newborn could do this feat. Publisher must obviously either pay the author per the number of words in the book and/or encouraged the author to write multiple POV’s which, especially at the end, was very tedious and boring to read and detracted from the book.

Review after half of the novel

This novel is so compelling that I want to continue reading right to the end. The characters are well developed and believable. I’m hoping that Anderson figures out that Ashley isn’t to blame for anything that happened or any of the miss apprehensions that he has. I understand why Ashley couldn’t tell him why she had to take Diana‘s place which has led to a whole range of misunderstandings. But I thought Anderson as a shrewd businessman would dig farther into the reasons why things happened but he was so engrained in revenge that he’s gonna kick himself when he finds out the truth. But the question is, will he believe the truth when he hears it?
