Becoming an alpha was supposed to be my life's achievement. That's what everyone thought. But I had something more important in my life to do. And becoming an alpha was the very first step to my achievements. I had to kill so many people. I want to make them suffer who made me suffer in my past life. And this! This was just the very beginning. *** “Where is he? Where is Lucas?” She asked her father, her breaths uneven. “Isabelle! What's wrong? What happened?” Alpha Nathan asked as he looked at his daughter. She looked pale. I tried to touch her but I couldn't. “Daddy! Where is he?” She asked, placing her hands on her father's chest. Then she hugged him and started crying. “Hasn't he come home yet? He left the pack house hours ago. Saying you have some preparations left for the big test tomorrow.” Alpha Nathan was talking to Mama, who walked out of the kitchen. “He hasn't come home.” Mama replied. “He must have gone for another run. You know how hard he is working. Just so he could prove his place beside you. The stronger he is, the better choice he is for the pack.” Alpha Nathan whispered to Belle. “I will never come back, Alpha. I am dead.” I screamed but my words touched no ears.
Chapter 1
ALPHA TIMOTHY People of the Dark Womb pack were gathered into the training field. It was a huge ground and it was surrounded by the thick and beautiful forest. My father, Alpha Andrew Knight, stood in the middle. He was giving his speech about the pack, it's people and their harmony. But the truth was, it was the knight bloodline that kept the pack together for all those years. I sat in the front row, all alone. My father's eyes were on me. Luna Lydia sat with her son, my half brother, Anthony. While everyone was speculating about the next successor of the Black Womb pack's Alpha seat, I already knew the answer. The goddess had already whispered it in my ear. No one knew about it but me. As my father finished his teary and emotional speech, he proudly raised one of his hands toward me, pointing at me so I would get to him. Everyone was in shock but I just smirked at my victory and made my way in the middle of the field where my father was waiting for me. As soon as I reached him, he proudly placed one of his hands on my shoulder. “People of the Dark Womb pack, I present to you my successor, the new Alpha of the Dark Womb pack, Alpha Timothy Knight.” My father announced proudly. Luna Lydia got up from her seat, glared at my father and walked away. While I was looking at my brother who was smiling and cheering for me. “I am not going to say anything to you all. I believe in actions, rather in words. I will let my work speak of my intentions for the pack and its people.” Loud cheering started and I could hear my father cheering the loudest. “For now, I can only say that I will not let you down. And I will make my father and my Alpha ancestors proud every single day.” I added further. My father chuckled because it was almost the same speech his father gave the day he took over the charge of Alpha of the Dark Womb pack. My father pulled me into a hug that roared his pride. “I am proud of you, my son. I must say, your brother also gave you a tough time to get to this place. But you manage to out run him here, again.” My father whispered in my ear while patting my back. When he finally pulled away, he gave me that same look. “You have now become an alpha. Don't you think it's time that the pack is also introduced to their new Luna?” My father asked me that question again. And I had no idea how to respond to that. While to my father, becoming an alpha was the final step, for me, it was just the beginning. I, Alpha Timothy Knight, my life never began at the Dark Womb pack. It started somewhere else. And my twisted fate led me to the Dark Womb pack, the most notorious and powerful pack in all the shifter's territories. Our man power, our treasures, our security, everything was at the top. Maybe it was not as twisted as it used to be. I couldn't remember everything. But I knew that this was not my first life. I was reborn as Timothy Knight. I was not Timothy when I was born. My name was Lucas. And I was a low cast, powerless, loser Omega. LUCAS It all started one night, when my pack slept peacefully in their homes, not aware of the storm that had surrounded us. Our pack, the Persephone's garden, was enriched with grains, all kinds of food, herbs and even treasures beyond people's imaginations. They were hidden right in the middle of our small pack, in the belly of the small lake, left by the goddess herself. Because of those treasures and the amount of free food our people enjoyed for free, some packs got their evil eyes set on our pack. And one day, everything was destroyed. A pack attacked us. Killing all the men and taking women and children hostages. My father was fighting the enemy, along with the pack's warriors. I was the only child of my parents. I was supposed to be the future of the pack. I was the alpha's child. In between the burning pack, my mother did the unthinkable. She pulled me into her arms and ran. She was shot by multiple arrows but she didn't stop until she reached a cave and hid me in that cave. I watched life fading from her eyes. I watched those cowardly men kicking her dead body, ripping her clothes off just to humiliate her because she managed to escape them and die without them having to taste her. That's what they said. I laid on the ground and remained quiet. I let my silent tears fall. I couldn't even drag her inside the cave as I promised my dying mother that I wouldn't come out until the sunrise. I wanted to break that promise but I just couldn't. I was just a child. In between tears and quiet whimpers, I somehow fell asleep when the whole world suddenly went quiet. I opened my eyes at the voice of the crows that were cawing loudly while flying over. I looked out and tears welled up in my eyes when I found my mother's body that had turned into stone. I stepped out of the cave after inspecting the surroundings. Looking at the pack and the land, my soul almost froze in my body. My people and the pack, even the forests, the lake and the houses, everything and everyone had turned into stone. I didn't know how it happened and what caused it. But the sight was terrifying for someone like me, a child who was left alone in the whole land. I was too young to understand what happened to that place. Maybe it was that curse my mother used to talk about. But I never thought it was not just about story my mother made, but reality. My eyes widened in horror when I saw a few rogues wandering around. I might be young but even at that age, we were told stories about the rogues, of how they like to eat the fresh blood wolves. After all, an alpha's blood is molded and trained from the moment it's out of its mother's womb. A scream tore through my throat when I saw that very sight before me. Some of the rogues were eating young wolves. It was said that it gave them strength but it also cost them their sanity. Rogues didn't have alphas or packs to give them strength. That's why they needed the sources that could keep them warm and powerful enough to survive. Unlike the rest of the pack, those wolves didn't turn into stone. One of the rogues set their eyes on me. As a child, I was supposed to freeze in my place. But I was not just a shifter's child, I was an Alpha's blood. The pack might be small but they taught us survival instincts as soon as we started crawling. I turned around and started running as fast as I could. But then again, a child couldn't run off far from those creatures. I fell down and suddenly, the rogue was standing on top of me. He howled while flashing me his sinister smile, showing his blood stained teeth and fangs. He was about to grab me when I heard a loud thud and he went flying away from me. They made screeching sounds, the rogues. Then they just ran off. I looked up and found a tall and very handsome man standing behind me. He had a long beard, long blonde hair that were tied up in a neat bun and green eyes that glowed. “Kill all these rogues. And look for any other children. The pups are often left to get killed by rogues. They need our protection. No pup should ever be left behind after a war to feed rogues.” His voice held authority. His pack members, his warriors, ran after the rogues. They are divided into two groups. One went after the rogues and the others went to look for the other kids. The alpha crouched down before me, maybe just to match my height as he placed one of his hands on my shoulders. “What happened to you and your people was the cruelest. I can't do anything to either undo it or bring your family back. But I can take you kids under my protection, be your alpha. Do you think you can trust me for that?” He asked, his tone was very gentle. Tears started flowing from my eyes and I nodded my head. He pulled me into a hug because I was shaking with fear and sorrow. Turned out, I was the only one left alive. The rest of the children were either killed by their own parents because they knew what would happen to them after. Or they were killed and eaten by the rogues. I didn't even know his name and he took me under his wings to protect me from the cruel world. I grabbed his hand and he led me toward his car. His warriors had cleared the area. I was looking out of the window, watching my home fade before my eyes. I knew it was the last time I was seeing my home. I wanted to capture the last image in my eyes before my home would be forgotten forever. After all, I was just 6 when it all happened to me. “Looking back will only hurt you and your soul. From now on, you will look forward. You are now part of my pack, the silver Luna pack. We march forward. We don't look back.” I heard the alpha speak in a very gentle tone. I nodded my head, promising myself that I would never look back. But deep inside, something didn't agree with my decision.
Chapter 2
LUCAS We arrived at the silver Luna pack by lunch. I was let into the huge garden of the alpha's Manor. It was this big and old home. That's what I could call it. There were benches in the garden. And a beautiful table. The table had a fruit basket and a tower that was filled with cookies and pastries. I learned the alpha's name on our way to his pack. His name was Nathan. Looking around, I found a girl, about my age, sitting on the grass. She looked like she was hiding from someone. But she didn't look happy at all. There was no one at the ground. Just her and I. And a few guards that were standing by the entrance and the boundary walls of the manor. Hesitantly, I walked toward her. The aroma from the freshly baked goods made my stomach growl and reminded me that I hadn't eaten anything since I had dinner the night before. I ignored the way my mouth watered, looking at the food and went to her. “Are you hiding from a monster?” I asked, because she looked scared of somethin
