The Alphas' Redemption

“She is the seer of doom, and I do not want her anywhere near my pack.” Alpha Lyndi stated, her voice filled with rage. She slammed her hand on the table, and repeated slowly, “wherever she goes bad things happen. No, not today and not my pack, let her visit other packs.”

Her beta took a step back, bowed, and said nothing. 

Alpha Lyndi was very clear about her pack, she protected it and would kill anyone who uttered a single bad word about it. Unfortunately, the seer was coming and Alpha Lyndi knew it wasn’t because she planned to praise her. 

Her beta suggested meeting the seer on her way to the pack and chase her away, but Alpha Lyndi knew better. As much as she hated the seer, she knew the seer wouldn’t risk her life visiting her pack for nothing.

Alpha Lyndi went about her usual day, training, meeting with the patrol leaders and finally meeting with her beta. By the time the moon arose, she couldn’t escape the meet anymore. 

The moment their eyes met, she wished the day would have taken longer so she wouldn’t meet Willow, the damned seer. 

“Your mate has been entertaining me.” Seer Willow informed her as she bowed in respect. 

Alpha Lyndi couldn’t give two shits about her mate, hell, if he wanted to leave with the seer and entertain her forever, he could.

“You are with child.” Seer Willow said, knowing well going around the bush won’t earn anything. 

Alpha Lyndi’s mate’s eyes widened.

“Alpha Lyndi, I understand you are more powerful than your mate, but shouldn’t you have at least informed him that he is soon to be a father.” Seer Willow said, shocked laced in her tone. 

“Have I ever come to your oracle and ordered you to do something?” Alpha Lyndi asked, she rose, “if you have nothing to say, get out of my pack.”

Seer Willow warned, “I understand he isn’t as powerful as you, but the least you could do is respect him.” 

Alpha Lyndi stood before her, placed her finger on her chin and whispered, “you are really pushing your luck.” 

Seer Willow trembled, her eyes on the ground, she gathered her courage and then rose, “the unborn pup is female and she will be greater than you.” 

Alpha Lyndi, “we are always greater.”

Seer Willow was shocked by her response, she expected Alpha Lyndi to throw a fight.  She continued, “that will be the end of your alpha-line, she will be strong yes, but that is because spirits will follow her, and whenever she goes, chaos will ensue. She will be the end of you, the great Alpha Lyndi.” 

“What?” Alpha Lyndi’s mate, Beckett Ridge spoke for the first time.

“You have to appease the moon goddess at least then she will save you all.” 

“F*ck you and your prophecy, get out of my pack. Don’t make me repeat myself.” Alpha Lyndi’s voice boomed in the office. 

Later that night, after Alpha Lyndi finished her rounds through the border, and was met with a scared mate. She laughed at his face and mocked him for always being a weakling. 

Alpha Lyndi despised her mate to her deepest core and to think it was his fault that her line was going to end because he wouldn’t shut up about an heir that made her be expectant, she wanted nothing but to squash him under her feet.

She didn’t care about him, not at all, and there was no change coming anytime soon. Her mate had come to understand that, after all, Alpha Lyndi was someone who wouldn’t change that easily. 

The moment they had met, she had been the one who had recognized him and she had been direct to him, “I will not hand over my alphaship to you, you are just a mate, something I couldn’t escape because of the moon goddess.” 

Her mate had understood that but tonight, he wished she would listen to him. He wanted them to go and appease the moon goddess, at least they would spare their unborn pup. 

Instead of assuring him they were in it together, she said with full malice, “my alpha-line will remain in my blood, but if she is meant to end it all, I will handle her first. The problem is mate, if I try to end her now, I will also be at risk, so, let’s wait till she is born, I will stomp on her little body.”

Her mate stammered, mind blank. He couldn’t string up words. 

“We will make another one, perhaps it will be better.” She said, voice soft as if she just hadn’t said she would kill their pup once it was born. 

Her mate begged for her to listen, but was met with nothing but deaf ears, Alpha Lyndi didn’t need a day to think what she would do, she had already decided, the unborn pup wouldn’t know the world even for a minute.

The pack heard of the news and begged Alpha Lyndi to lead them to the moon goddess, whatever it was that they did, the moon goddess wouldn’t leave them hanging dry, she was forgiving and surely, the unborn pup had no mistake and would be forgiven and everything will return as it was. 

She didn’t listen to any of them; instead, she ordered them to be ready for what was to come. 

She was going to take matters into her own hands, she hadn’t been this strong, winning against other alphas only to be ended by a mere pup.

And so, as the pack continued crying out to the moon goddess to save them, Alpha Lyndi ruled them without fear, looking forward to the day her ungrateful heir would be born. She was going to end her heir, no matter what it took. 

Life inside the pack was unbearable. 

Parents didn’t have time with their pups, mates were together for a short time and when they did, they were too tired to even speak to each other. Bonds were broken and Alpha Lyndi couldn’t care less.

Everyone was training harder than they had ever before, it was as if they were planning for a war that they had to win no matter what. Alpha Lyndi didn’t sleep and ensured the training went as planned, perfectly.

Perhaps it was because they were tired but they could swear the alpha was everywhere at the same time. Whenever they turned, she was there. When they took a break, she was right there, reminding them they had to train.

Her mate begged her to go to the moon goddess instead of the cruel training and was punished. He was thrown inside the coldest dungeon in the packhouse and no one complained after that, they just lived to see the next day. 

Beta Zinke supported Alpha Lyndi’s every move and that fueled the alpha
