About Me — The Writer Behind the Stories My name is Anifowoshe Christiana, but as a writer, I am known by the name Big Teddy. I am a storyteller, a dreamer, and someone who believes that words can reach places that people sometimes cannot. I am still at the beginning of my writing journey, but I have a dream that goes far beyond simply writing novels. I want to create stories that people can feel, remember, and carry with them long after they have finished reading. I started writing in 2026, and although I am relatively new to the world of novel writing, I have always been fascinated by stories. Stories have a special kind of power. They can make us laugh when we are sad, give us courage when we feel weak, make us question the world around us, and sometimes remind us that we are not alone. For me, writing is more than putting words together on a page. It is about creating another world and inviting people into it. It is about giving characters emotions, fears, dreams, mistakes, and reasons to keep going. When I write, I want my readers to forget everything around them for a moment and become part of the story. My favorite genres are fantasy, survival thrillers, and werewolf stories. I love stories filled with mystery, danger, unexpected twists, emotional moments, and characters who refuse to give up even when everything seems impossible. I especially enjoy writing about survival because survival is not always about fighting monsters or escaping danger. Sometimes, survival is simply waking up the next morning and deciding that you are going to keep going. One of the stories that represents the kind of writer I want to become is The Girl Who Refused to Die. The story is built around tragedy, fear, survival, and the determination to keep moving forward when life has taken almost everything away. Through this story, I wanted to explore what happens when a person is pushed beyond their limits and discovers strength they never knew they had. I believe every writer has a story inside them. Some stories come from imagination, while others are inspired by experiences, observations, emotions, or the struggles people face every day. My own writing is influenced by the human desire to survive, to find hope, to be loved, and to overcome circumstances that seem impossible. There are many novel writers around the world who inspire me because they have shown that a writer’s imagination can cross borders. Writers such as J.K. Rowling, Stephen King, George R.R. Martin, Suzanne Collins, and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie have demonstrated different ways that storytelling can capture the attention of millions of readers. Their success reminds me that great stories do not belong to one country, one language, or one type of person. A powerful story can travel anywhere. What inspires me most about successful writers is not only the number of books they have written or the number of people who know their names. It is the fact that they started somewhere. Every established writer once had a blank page in front of them. Every great story once existed only as an idea inside someone’s mind. That gives me hope. I know I still have a lot to learn. I am developing my voice, improving my storytelling, learning how to create stronger characters, and discovering how to keep readers turning the pages. I do not expect the journey to be easy. In fact, I expect there will be moments when I doubt myself. But I have learned that being new does not mean being incapable. It simply means there is still room to grow. My dream is to become a novelist whose stories reach readers across the world. I want someone in Nigeria, America, the United Kingdom, Canada, Africa, Europe, or somewhere I have never even heard of to open one of my books and become completely lost in the story. I want my characters to feel real. I want my stories to create emotions. I want my twists to surprise people. I want my books to make people stay awake because they desperately want to know what happens next. Most importantly, I want my writing to inspire people. If a character in one of my stories can survive something terrible, perhaps a reader going through a difficult moment can also find a little courage to keep going. If one of my stories can make someone cry, laugh, or feel understood, then I believe the words have served their purpose. I am Big Teddy, a writer still building my journey one story at a time. I may not have written every story I dream of writing yet, but I have already started. And sometimes, starting is the most important part. My dream is simple: to write stories that refuse to be forgotten and to become a writer whose imagination can inspire the world. This is only the beginning of my journey.
