"What happened last night was a mistake, Nara." My heart drops to the floor.  "No, it wasn't. You came to me. To mate because we are mates," I'm trembling badly.  "I was drunk and horny. Your scent was all over the house, driving me bonkers. Of course, I'd go after you. You should have sent me away," he booms, angry with me. "Are you blaming me?"  "No, we are both at fault. Nara, I can't be with you without risking my position. Please understand me, it's not to hurt you," "You're hurting me, Kian,"  "It's Alpha to you," he growls, and I flinch. "We are not discussing any further. You just shifted into your wolf, and if I reject you now, she might leave, so I won't," There was no flicker of emotion in his voice or on his face. Long gone is a man who was making love to me so tenderly, and standing there is a cold Alpha.
