Chapter 1

The drunkard in front of her was old and ugly, speaking in a language that Sophia Foster couldn't understand, and he approached her.

It almost made her faint from the stench.

She pinched her nose, looking at the lewd-looking old man, feeling flustered and scared.

"Don't come any closer. Do you hear me? You're not allowed to come any closer."

The old man's smile grew even more lewd as he mumbled something incoherently.

Sophia was about to cry.

Who would save her?

She didn't want to be defiled by such a disgusting person.

Just as the old man's hand was about to touch her, she noticed an empty wine bottle next to her.

She grabbed it and smashed it on the old man's head without hesitation.

While the man was crying out in pain, she got up and ran away.

When she ran outside, she found the surroundings were desolate, with not a soul in sight.

She randomly chose a direction and ran.

However, due to prolonged fasting and exhaustion, the old man quickly caught up with her.

Sophia ran while shouting, "Help me!"

She was so scared that she cried until her face was covered in tears and snot.

Suddenly, she saw an estate appear in the distance.

The white castle stood gracefully, breathtakingly beautiful.

She seemed to see hope and ran forward desperately.

...

Christian Blackwood had just gotten out of the car when something hit him in the chest.

Slight pain.

A unique, subtle fragrance wafted into his nostrils.

Then a weak and pitiful voice came, accompanied by crying.

"Sir, please save me. There are bad people here, sob sob..."

Sophia felt incredibly lucky to have met someone from her home country in a foreign land.

Meeting a fellow countryman abroad brought tears to her eyes.

She was completely oblivious to the aura of "keep away" emanating from the man in front of her.

She clung to him as if he were her lifeline, her little hands gripping his clothes, her eyes red and swollen.

The old man had caught up, swearing and cursing in a flurry of words Sophia couldn't understand, staring at her menacingly.

Sophia snuggled closer to Christian.

"Sir, help me. I don't know that person. Please save me."

Christian frowned and reached out to push her away.

Fearing that the man would abandon her, Sophia plopped down on Christian's shiny leather shoes and clung tightly to his legs.

Christian: "..."

The surrounding group of bodyguards in black: "..."

They were internally screaming, "Where did this wild rabbit come from? Does she even know who this man is? Is he someone she can hug? Is he someone she can afford to offend?"

The bodyguards could already imagine the woman's miserable end.

They were just waiting for their master's order to throw this audacious woman into the ocean to feed the sharks.

What a pity; that wild rabbit was quite beautiful.

Christian's eyebrows twitched as he felt his legs pressed against two soft mounds, like sponges, yet with a far softer touch.

He said in a deep voice, "Let go."

Sophia hugged him even tighter.

"I won't let go."

Christian rubbed his forehead.

He had never encountered anything like this before.

The old man not far away was wary of Christian's bodyguards and dared not step forward to snatch her, so he chattered on and on.

Sophia couldn't understand.

Christian understood.

The old man claimed that this woman was a bride he had bought with his own money, demanding that he let her go.

Bought with money?

Interesting.

The older man tried to pull Sophia away.

With a single glance from Christian, two bodyguards immediately stepped forward to block his way.

Seeing that this man wasn't entirely heartless, Sophia sobbed and promised, "Sir, you saved me today. You are my savior; I will repay you in the future."

Christian curled his lips slightly. "Let go of me first."

"I won't let go." Sophia was terrified that this man would hand her over to the old man.

A bodyguard stepped forward: "Young Master, I'll take her away."

Christian, for some unknown reason, glanced at him and said, "No need."

Bodyguard: "..."

The bodyguard retreated, looking puzzled.

The old man, drunk and impatient, bypassed the bodyguards and tried to grab her.

Sophia screamed in fright and clung even tighter to Christian's leg.

"Help. Help. I don't want him to take me away."

Christian pressed his temples and gave his bodyguards a visual cue.

Two bodyguards immediately escorted the drunk old man away.

Sophia didn't know where the old man was being taken, nor did she care.

It was enough that she was safe.

A deep, impatient voice came from above: "Can you let go now?"

Sophia released her hold embarrassedly, patted her dress, and stood up.

That was when she finally noticed the man's face.

Strikingly handsome, with an air of effortless authority.

He was also remarkably tall, a full head taller than her, imposing and commanding.

"Sir, thank you."

Christian didn't reply and walked towards the Blackwood Estate in Provence, tapping gently with his white cane.

Sophia then realized that he was blind.

Such a striking man, yet blind.

What a pity.

Coming to her senses, she hurried after him.

Given Christian's unusual tolerance toward the woman, the bodyguards didn't dare to stop her.

Sophia successfully entered the estate.

The garden was geometrically symmetrical, with the fountain's water flowing gently.

The white castle was as enchanting as something straight out of a fairy tale.

Sophia gasped softly in awe.

"How wonderful it would be to live here."

"Why haven't you left yet?" Christian suddenly stopped and turned around.

Sophia pressed on, unabashed.

"Sir, I've lost my phone and ID. I can't contact my family, and I don't know anyone here. Could you please let me stay for the night? I'll leave as soon as I can get in touch with my family."

Christian frowned and remained silent.

Sophia's eyes reddened; she sniffed, gasped softly, and prepared to cry again.

Christian knit his brows, turned around, and continued walking forward.

Sophia knew that he was tacitly agreeing to her staying, so she wiped away her tears, smiled brightly with relief, and chased after him.

"Sir, your estate is so beautiful."

"My name is Sophia Foster. May I ask your surname, sir?"

"Sir, let me help you up the steps."

"No need."

"I'll help you up. You just saved me; it's the least I can do to repay you."

Ignoring Christian's subtle resistance, Sophia directly took his arm.

Chapter 2

Christian tried to pull away, but the moment his fingers brushed against her delicate hand, he felt a sudden spark and immediately jerked back.

The bodyguards were left speechlessly watching the scene.

Their young master was surprisingly composed yet so reserved; his ears even flushed at the mere touch of a woman's hand.

Sophia didn't notice Christian's expression. She helped him into the estate, her eyes lighting up as she let out a few soft exclamations of wonder.

The interior was decorated primarily in warm gold and off-white tones, giving it a majestic, palatial feel.

Refined and understated, yet profoundly romantic.

Christian pulled his arm away and called for the butler.

"Arrange a guest room for her."

Mr. Tom glanced at Sophia.

A remarkably charming young lady.

"May I ask your name, Miss?"

"Mr. Tom, my name is Sophia Foster."

"Miss Foster, please follow me."

Upon entering the guest room, Sophia sigh
