The Alpha's Regret

“I, Alpha Logan, reject you, Lily, as my Luna and mate. I never want to see your face ever again. Get out of my pack and out of my life!”

Lily's body jolted in pain, but she tried as much as possible to conceal it. She pushed back the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes before she spoke.

“Alpha Logan, please don't do this. I am carrying your pup! You cannot do this to me. Think of our child!”

Logan's eyes widened in shock at her statement. His eyes moved from Lily's face, then dropped to her stomach. He seemed perplexed and caught off guard. After a minute, he suddenly glared at her and shot venom at her.

“That child is not mine! For all I know, you have been sleeping around, haven't you? Go meet the other males you shared a bed with. I am sure they will believe your pathetic story.”

Lily's jaw dropped in shock. She couldn't believe that Logan would say that about her. Her heart cried out in pain.

“Why would you accuse me of infidelity? I have never shared my bed with anyone but you in my entire life,” she spat.

“That's enough with your lies, Lily. Get out of my sight. I am tired of speaking to you!” Logan replied.

“Logan, you can't do this to me! You said you loved me! How can you do this to the woman you claimed you loved? Just how?” Lily spat in a shaky voice.

She couldn't believe that the man she had loved, the man who had claimed to love her too, who had promised to stand by her forever, was looking at her with spite and hatred, discarding her without a second thought. What changed? What went wrong?

Tears threatened to fall from her eyes, but she pushed them back. She wasn't going to give him and everyone around them the satisfaction of seeing her look pathetic.

Two guards immediately walked over to her and stood beside Lily, ready to escort her out.

Lily looked at Logan one last time, but all she saw was determination. She knew he wasn't ready to change his mind, so she tightened her fists.

“If I leave this pack right now, just know you are dead to me, Logan! This is goodbye!” she spat angrily before turning to walk away.

She looked to her right and saw her family members standing and watching her from afar, looking at her as if she were a plague. She turned to her left and saw her friends, Emma, Monica, and Bianca, watching her.

The only person who stood by her was Angela, her best friend. Angela ran to her with worry and pity in her eyes before taking her hand.

“I am so sorry this had to happen, best friend. Don't worry! It is us against the world now. I promise to stand by you always,” she swore, plastering a small, sad smile on her face.

Lily nodded slowly before Angela slowly walked Lily out of the gate. Everyone watched as they made their way out.

They barely made it out of the gate when the big, mighty gate locked behind them.

Then Lily collapsed to the ground with tears rolling down her face.

“Angela...” she choked out, clutching her chest as though her heart had been ripped from her body.

Angela immediately dropped to her knees beside her and wrapped her arms around her trembling friend.

“Cry if you need to,” Angela whispered softly. “Don't hold it in.”

That was all Lily needed. A broken sob escaped her lips as months of pain, humiliation, and heartbreak came crashing down on her.

“How could he do this to me?” she cried. “I loved him, Angela. I gave him everything. I gave him my heart!”

Angela's eyes watered. She hated seeing Lily like this. Everyone in the pack knew how much Lily loved Logan.

She had supported him through countless challenges before he became Alpha. She had stood by him when others doubted him.

Yet this was how he repaid her.

“Forget him,” Angela said firmly. “One day he'll regret this.”

Just as Lily was about to respond, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen.

“Aah!”

She cried out and doubled over, clutching her stomach tightly.

Angela's eyes widened in alarm.

“Lily!”

Another wave of pain hit her, stronger than the first hit Lily. Lily's face turned pale as beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

“My stomach...” she gasped.

Fear instantly flooded Angela's chest. “What is it? What's wrong?”

The pain intensified, causing Lily to tremble violently.

Then she felt something warm trickling down her legs.

Her breath hitched. Slowly, she lowered her gaze and saw blood—a horrifying amount of blood.

The color drained from Lily's face.

“No...”

Angela followed her gaze and froze.

“Oh, Moon Goddess...”

Lily's hands shook as she pressed them against her stomach.

“My baby...” she whispered brokenly.

Tears streamed down her face.

The emotional trauma of the rejection, coupled with the stress and heartbreak she had endured for months, had become too much for her body to bear.

Another painful cramp tore through her, and a scream escaped her lips.

Angela quickly caught her before she collapsed completely.
