Interesting take on a method of meeting a fated love. I really like that our protagonists didn't magically become all powerful and unstoppable. The children's run was a beautiful and creative way to show acceptance in a very innocent way that fits the main character as she has progressed through the story. However, I would have loved to have seen more of a guided path from her mother. While I understand that the author was going for dysfunction, adding that to an already "broken" characters seems unnecessary. Giving her some solace not only in watching but also guiding may have helped the reader in an understanding that while limited, the love was real.
