This novel is really well written…which is always a pleasant surprise on these apps. The characters are well developed and the story is well paced. I am a sucker for a fated mate story, especially as kids and found each other again because the universe has been dragging them together since day one. The most fantastical thing about this story by far is the letters because, as a former teacher, who has spent 3 out of the last 5 years in a classroom…kids don’t talk like that. Covid messed them up bad. While they have expansive vocabulary because of social media, they don’t know what half those words mean or how to spell them (the pocket dictionaries grounded it in reality that they’d know how to spell, but also…teachers no longer require students to have pocket dictionaries because they all have tablets). But again, this is fantasy. There are werewolves. A 9 year old on a 7th grade reading level isn’t that far fetched. Overall, it’s a solid 4/5 on my scale.
