Everyone in this pack considers me weak, all because I was born an Omega from Omega parents.

Yeah, my life has been full of ups and downs-until I met Kael. He wasn’t my fated mate, but he loved me deeply.

I still remember the moment he proposed. I was so happy. I hugged him tightly and planted kisses on his lips. Ever since then, I became the Luna of Royale Pack.

I gained respect. I had the love of my life by my side. But now? I don’t know anymore.

I stared at the clouds, my mind lost in bitterness and sorrow.

Ever since Kael accepted me as his Luna, he never touched me. Although I was the Luna of this pack, I didn’t have a mark or a mate bond with him.

It hurts.

I begged him to mate me. I went on shopping sprees, bought lingerie and revealing dresses. I even slept without underwear. But nothing. He was cold and distant, like he planned it all along.

I felt rejected and discarded. Tears streamed down my cheeks as my heart twisted painfully.

“Why, Moon Goddess?” I muttered under my breath. I had been hated and treated like trash until he found me. I gained respect, even though I could still sense their scornful gazes, mocking me because I didn’t have the mark of being mated.

I sighed. I had to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a long day. I was waiting for Kael’s arrival, and this time, I had the perfect plan to finally make love with him.

I might sound desperate, but I could feel myself fading from his heart and from the pack’s respect. Everyone had started looking at me like I was nothing again.

I laid on the bed and pulled the duvet up to my chest. My hands gripped the fabric as tears fell freely. I stared at the ceiling fan as it spun.

“Have you ever hated your job of giving air to people?” I asked the fan. Yeah, I might sound crazy, but I’m lonely, so bitter and sad.

I yawned. The silence was deafening, and the fan didn’t talk back. I was going to lose my mind if I stayed like this.

I turned to the side and tried to close my eyes, but my gaze landed on a photo frame. It was a picture of Kael and me. He was holding my waist, kissing me like he couldn’t get enough.

Where did everything go wrong? I wondered.

Then I heard a creaking sound.

No one was supposed to be home except me. Kael was on a business trip. He left me here alone, not caring about my safety. What if bandits or rogues came for me? Would he even care?

“Uma, is that you?” I yelled, but got no response.

I climbed off the bed, my bare feet touching the cold wooden floor as I walked to the door.

I unlocked it gently and peeked out. My wolf, Lauren, was silent and hurting. She shut herself out completely.

I didn’t blame her. We left one shitty life, only to walk into another. But right now, I needed her. I felt lost.

I stepped into the hallway. Luckily, the lights were still on. Then I heard a faint vibration, soft sounds coming from the room opposite mine.

No one should be home. Even the maid, Uma, was gone. I heard nothing else, just silence.

I scoffed. Maybe I was being paranoid.

I turned toward the stairs, heading back to my room… but then I paused.

This was Kael’s house. I didn’t know if it had secret rooms or bunkers, but something inside me whispered what I didn’t want to believe.
