40+ chapters in...it's a decent read. There are hints or parallelisms to the Vampire Diaries, with a slight twinge of the Twilight series. I haven't yet delved into A Discovery of Witches, but would gather similarities there as well. Characters are mostly well-developed; there are several relatives and partially built characters that it can be a bit confusing at times. With 181 chapters (none are numbered in the index which is somewhat frustrating), there's already several subset stories waiting to be developed. It's enjoyable thus far...

This book is growing on me the main characters are getting better as the book goes on. I can't wait until we see what happens i hope they end up together. Also the definition of a slow burn story. I also like the names are one I have not heard or seen often so that keeps it interesting. I hope it keeps going in a good direction and does not disappoint the readers of this book. Thank you

Loving this story so far. I love seeing the relationship between Selene and lucian grow. I really hope it continues. It’s always such an interesting storyline when all the fantasy species com together. Looking forward to knowing more about the witches and the werewolves. Also looking forward to seeing how Selene develops and how that affects her relationships. The royal family is interesting. Absolutely was not expecting Damien and Anna to be vampires. What a twist! Can’t wait to keep reading.

Story is bouncing a bit, from timelines to another and from places too. I think I’m still following. It is interesting to see if they get anywhere with the main story before the chapters end. They should tie everything together some how and still have space for the characters to grow and interact. I am a bit afraid the love story is forgotten when the power play and scheeming between vanpires and war between races step into the picture. That is What got me to read this originally. We’ll see if I finish this one.

This novel offers a shadowed glimpse into an England where old streets and quiet estates hide something ancient and watchful. The story moves at a measured pace, blending history with unease, and lets atmosphere do much of the work. Rather than relying on excess spectacle, it leans into restraint, mood, and lingering tension. The characters feel shaped by their surroundings, and the setting becomes as important as the threat itself. It is subtle, unsettling, and quietly absorbing. I like the tie into witches and werewolves too, funny she’s been surrounded by supernatural her whole life and is so clueless

So much drama already. The back and forth gets a bit hard to keep up with but it's manageable. This story is definitely keeping my interest though. But I will say the lingering feelings that aren't being shared between the main characters is kind of getting to a "HURRY UP!" moment. So far, it's not at all what I expected it to be which is a bit disappointing but also makes it more interesting and pushes me to continue reading. Really enjoying this one! EDIT: Finished it! This was really good! 10/10, highly recommend!!
