The room fell silent for a moment. He released my face from his grip and started pacing around the room before, suddenly he stopped and started studying me, his gaze piercing. Then, he crouched down again in front of me, his face inches from mine. "You want to save your father?" he asked calmly. I nodded desperately. "You will work for me," he said, standing up and stepping back. "As a maid in my mansion. One year of service without pay, whenever I want a taste of that body I'll get it and you can't refuse" I hesitated for a moment, I was so disgusted, he wants to have his way with me, how can I say yes to this? He would fully access me for a year? One year of being at his beck and call of been a s*x slave to this devil? ******* Rafael Marino, infamously known as "The devil" is a merciless mob boss forged in the brutal ways of his father, Vincenzo Marino. Claire Miller, a struggling stripper, is just trying to make ends meet while caring for her alcoholic father. Their worlds collide when her father, in a drunken stupor, steals $1.5 million from Rafael's club and promptly loses it to a group of thieves. Rafael, who had a recent run-in with Claire and was rebuffed, sees the perfect opportunity for revenge, with her father nearly beaten half to death she is forced to accept the job of a maid, spending a year at the ruthless mob boss' mansion, the big question is will she survive the devil and his family's heat or be family's turning point against a much bigger threat?

Love the novel up until near the end. The character point of views were really, really captivating. The storyline was well followed, easy to follow it and was quite interesting. Getting closer to the end of the story. However, it got a bit confusing. I guess the author wanted to go in a different direction and totally lost the reader. After that, I understand there's supposed to be a second book to this, which is supposed to be a continuation or flashback or whatever, but after reading the last few chapters, it kind of makes you lose interest and makes it not make sense.
