"How much would it take to make you my wife?" Catherine Owens has to interview the billionaire CEO of Citadel constructions, Alexander William, as part of her project for her college newspaper. Alexander develops interest in her despite being bethroted and offers her a job in his company as a means of getting closer to her. He suggests a temporary marriage between them but during the period of their contract, he becomes obsessed and falls in love with Catherine. Catherine undergoes series of challenges including losing her mother, getting betrayed by her only friend Elsie and trying to get Alexander's family to accept her despite their difference in financial status.
