A letter was sent for me to attend the most prestigious of school. Evergreen Academy, a school for supernatural beings. It was a school where your skills and powers are honed, your fighting abilities heightened for protection. My name is Medora, a strange name for a strange girl with crazy powers. I did however grew up with my parents helping me control my powers. They always did say, I was destined for something. For what, I don't know. But...maybe this school will help me. I also think I found myself a mate...but something always stop me from exploring the relationship. Something is amidst and nothing is what it seems.

I knew I needed to perfect my abilities in order to protect myself from danger. Luckily, I had great control over my powers thanks to my parents. They were both witches and had been training me since I was a young child. With daily practices after school, I had become confident in my abilities and was now able to train on my own. But when I received the letter in my hand, all of my plans came crashing down. It was an invitation from Evergreen Academy, a school for supernatural beings where they could freely develop their gifts. Although I didn't need it, my parents were hopeful that I would say yes. As they held hands with worried expressions, I couldn't bring myself to disappoint them. So, with reluctance, I gave in and agreed to attend the academy. The bus would leave tomorrow morning and although everything happened quickly, I couldn't wait to get this obligation over with. Looking at my parents' relieved faces did little to calm my nerves; this school meant nothing to me and attending was simply a duty as their daughter.

"Welcome to Evergreen." The bus driver said in a joyous tone as he opens the door for me. I gave a shrugged as I lugged my luggage behind me down the short steps and on the cement that leads to an archaic castle. Iron clad gates adorned the front of the school, as if to protect those who dwell inside, or possibly keep outsiders out who don't belong. Doesn't matter, I won't be here that long to find out. The bus pulled off and disappeared around a bend. Leaving me by myself. Second thoughts crowded my mind but shook it off and walked towards the gate that automatically opened for me. I was the only one that got dropped off, so when I walked inside, all eyes were on me. Although, there were a lot of students, it seemed like I was the only with all the attention. Putting my mask on, a mask that I've donned ever since I was little. A mask of not caring. I walked inside and bee-lined for the information desk.
"Hey. Could you direct me to my room?" I asked. The girl on the other side smiled. She had dark bobbed hair, flawless skin and bright blue eyes. She looked like she came straight off a comic. Jesus.
"Yes, of course! You must be Ms. Medora Lakes." Taken aback, but didn't show it, I nodded. "My name is Jess." she introduced herself as gathered up papers from her desk and handed them to me one by one. "These are your class schedule. This is some information about the school, where things are located etc..." she bent down and grabbed a set of keys. "and... these are your dorm keys. You are in Anissa Halls; you do have a roommate. Hope that doesn't bother you." I shook my head no and grabbed all of my stuff. I was about turn around but didn't know where Anissa Halls was, I turned around and Jess giggled as she bopped herself on her forehead.
"Apologies. Yes, Anissa is on the right there by the big tree, round it to the back and you will see a big ole sign that says that name." she said as she nodded. "Just follow the path you're on. "
I nodded and gave her a small smile. "Thank you." Ignoring the stares once more, I walked the path I was on. I could hear the whispers and giggles and smiles, but I ignored it. I survived regular school, this was nothing. This was child's play. I could handle this. No problem.
Chapter 2
I quickly made my way to my room, marveling at the grandeur of this place. The castle was massive, but Anissa Halls was equally impressive. It stood separate from the main castle building but was connected by a covered bridge. As soon as I unlocked the front door, I was greeted by the smell of fresh books. To my left, there was a library, and to my right, a formal dining room with a large table where meetings were probably held. Everything about the place felt old yet well-maintained. After closing the door behind me, I headed towards the winding staircase with its beautifully polished cherry wood banister that seemed to stretch on forever.
I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach as I approached the stairs, but then I saw the elevator to my left and let out a sigh of relief. As I rode up to the fourth floor, I couldn't help but notice how quiet the building was. It must be a school day, I thought. According to my key, my room was number forty-five. After pressing the button and
